Local Students Receive Scholarship from Lake County Fish & Game Association

Today the application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship opens. It is the largest scholarship Legacy Foundation administers in terms of award amount and recognition.

However, many deserving scholars throughout the county are recognized with other Legacy administered scholarships. Often these scholarships are established by local families or clubs that see value in encouraging young and non-traditional students to pursue higher education.

Last week the Lake County Fish & Game Association presented its first annual scholarship awards. Amongst members of the Lake County Fish & Game Association in Griffith, Lindsey Forbes of Merrillville and Paige Kruk of Dyer were awarded a scholarship toward their educational expenses.

Lindsey will attend Purdue University West Lafayette in the fall. She plans to study biochemistry. Paige is a current student at Saint Mary’s College where she is studying elementary education.

We are happy to partner with LCF&G in the scholarship process and congratulate the first recipients of the Lake County Fish & Game Scholarship.
